 Robert Jacks (b. 1943) is one of Australia’s leading abstractionists. Exhibiting in Australia since 1966, Jacks taught in Canada and New York in the 1970s, returning to Australia in 1978. Surveys of his work have been held by the IMA in Brisbane and ACCA in Melbourne. Jacks was awarded an Order of Australia in 2005. His work is held by the National Gallery of Australia, most state galleries and many regional galleries.
