 Edith R. Evans (active in South Australia in the early 1900s) studied at the NGV School in the 1890s, and her work is held by the Art Gallery of South Australia. She is best known for her Doomed painting, purchased by the Art Gallery of South Australia in 1903, and director J. B. Mather's comments on the work: "[Doomed is] one of the best painted heads in the [gallery's] colonial section".
